Imagine if one of the 20 best players in the NFL or the NBA or Major League Baseball said it was commonly known that certain players were tanking games for money. It would instantly become the biggest story in American sports, and if there were any merit to the allegations, it would become one of the biggest scandals in the history of American sports.

But I haven't heard many people talking about what Andy Murray, the 18th ranked tennis player in the world, told the BBC:
"It is pretty disappointing for all the players, but everyone knows that it goes on.

"It's difficult to prove if someone has tanked a match or not tried.

"They can try their best until the last couple of games in each set and then make some mistakes, hit a couple of double faults and that is it. ...

"A career lasts probably only 10 or 12 years and you have to make all your money while you're still playing. But it's not really acceptable."

Everyone knows? Players think you have to make all your money while you're still playing, so why not take bribes on the side from gamblers? That's seriously a Top 20 player's perception of the attitude in tennis? Wow.
