To get you ready for week 7, FanHouse is previewing all 14 NFL games. Here is the Kansas City Chiefs/Oakland Raiders preview.

2007 Records:

Kansas City Chiefs 3-3 (t-1st in AFC West)
Oakland Raiders 2-3 (t-3rd in AFC West)

Last Game:

Chiefs 27, Bengals 20
Chargers 28, Raiders 14

When the Chiefs have the ball: They'll try to pound it with Larry Johnson, who had only his second 100 yard game of the season last weekend. LJ has been struggling this year, averaging just 3.4 yards per carry. He got stuffed in the second half against the Bengals despite going over the century mark early in the game. The Raiders defense has been weak against the run, giving up around 144 yards per game. Priest Holmes probably won't be active just yet, and backup Michael Bennett was traded to the Bucs, so LJ will see a lot of work.

When the Raiders have the ball: They will go with their bread and butter and hope to run the ball as well. In their two wins, they've averaged over 240 yards on the ground per game. In their three losses, they've averaged only 115 yards rushing. They'll give it to a healthier LaMont Jordan, and potentially feed it to Justin Fargas and Dominic Rhodes, if they have enough carries to go around.

The Edge: The Chiefs offense has been slightly more potent than the Raiders lately, but that could be because Oakland had a tough match up against San Diego last weekend. If the Raiders fall behind, don't expect their offense to get them back into it. But if they can establish the run, it will be quite a close game. Give the Raiders the slight edge since they're at home.

Keep an eye on:

Thomas Howard: The linebacker has picked off a pass in each of Oakland's last four games. Two of them, he returned the other way for a touchdown. Picking one off for a touchdown isn't exactly something you can count on each week, but it will certainly give the Raiders a helpful edge if they can get it.

Tony Gonzalez: He's really broken out the last month, catching 29 balls over four games for 369 yards and three touchdowns. Tony's success has corresponded with his team's success, as the Chiefs are 3-1 in their last four. Oh yeah, and Tony also cemented his place as the best pass-catching tight end in history last weekend.
