Sean Jensen of the Pioneer Press reports that George, the 39-year-old former No. 1 overall draft pick, is saying publicly that he wants another chance, and that he wants it to come in Minnesota, where he had his greatest success.
I don't think it's going to happen, but I also don't think it's quite as far-fetched as it might seem. George is one of those guys (like Vinny Testaverde) who has an arm that will be strong enough to be an NFL passer until he's a senior citizen.
"I know they're banged up," said George, 39. "But with a running back like Adrian Peterson, I would be licking my chops. With that running back, you need someone who can throw that deep ball, and I know I still can. I don't care about the talent at receiver."
George, who spent a week with the Oakland Raiders last season, hasn't thrown a pass in a regular season NFL game since 2001, when he started two games for the Washington Redskins.
