Judging by reports out of New York and, um, common sense, Isiah Thomas was to be unemployed right about now. Has Zeke escaped? Both the New York Times and Post say yes, with Cablevision boss James Dolan reportedly giving Isiah a personal assurance the coach will stick around for now. Here's Howard Beck of The Times:
Despite another woeful performance by the Knicks - accompanied by booming chants of "Fire Isiah" - James L. Dolan, the chairman of Madison Square Garden, remains "emphatically behind" Thomas, according to a high-ranking Garden official. That assessment was based on a brief meeting of Dolan, Thomas and Steve Mills, the Garden president, after the game, said the official.
The Knicks, of course, got destroyed by the 76ers at MSG, taking them to 6-13 on the season. The team stinks on paper, the team stinks on the court, the fans hate the team (as evidenced by the video below), the team is a source of embarrassment... and one guy could take much blame for all those things. But his job is safe. Better than a government job, Isiah's position.

Only 31 home games left, Knicks fans. Get it out of your system.
