In the strangest of all the recent developments in the Brett Favre story, the once (and future?) Packers quarterback has finally given an on-camera interview to a television reporter. And that reporter is Greta Van Susteren of Fox News. She writes on her blog:
I just interviewed Brett Favre in Mississippi....he is, as you know, entangled in a dispute with the Green Bay Packer General Manager. Brett understands the GM decision..and he accepts it..(And yes he loves the Packer fans)...but now - since the Packer GM made plain he does not want him - he wants to be released by the Packers so that he can see if any other team wants him. I am rushing to the airport but you will see the interview tonight...
That doesn't really tell us much that we didn't already know, but it does reiterate that Favre would like to at least have the option of negotiating with other teams.

So as for the other question: Why Van Susteren? I really have no idea. She's from Appleton, Wisconsin, so maybe that gives has some kind of connection with the Packers, but she's certainly not the reporter you would expect to land one of the biggest interviews of the NFL off-season.
