Hat tip to Awful Announcing for finding an interesting interview with one Hall of Fame quarterback talking about a future Hall of Fame QB.
Troy Aikman was on the "2 Live Stews" radio show and chatted a bit about Brett Favre ... not too favorably, I might add:
"This has been going on for over a decade. Going into '96, the Super Bowl that he won. He talked about it prior to that game that if he won that Super Bowl he may in fact retire. And since that time it's been twelve years now that we've talking about whether or not Brett's going to retire.
He [Aaron Rodgers] has been there all of season, they drafted him in the first round, they told him that he was going to be a starter this year. And I think you risk losing him for the rest of his career, however short that maybe with Packers, to get one more season out of Brett Favre. Do you go on to win the Super Bowl? Well maybe you do, but they could very easily go 4 and 12 as well."
Aikman has played against Favre (9-1 lifetime record against the Packers) and has called a lot of Green Bay games. While not a Favre expert, he still is coming from a place we can all respect. I'm not an Aikman fan, but I like that he hasn't been shy about calling out whiners.
That crap about the Packers going 4-12 with Favre this year was insane since this team nearly went to the Super Bowl last year and pretty much the same group is back. Well, except for Favre.
You can listen to the clips of Aikman here.
