If Jets Deal Favre to Vikings, They'll Owe Packers Three First Round Picks

NFL.com's Adam Schefter is reporting that the Green Bay Packers did put a stipulation in the trade that sent Brett Favre to the Jets. If the Jets turn around and deal Favre to the Vikings, New York would have to send Green Bay three first-round picks.

Now, it is within the Jets right to turn around and deal Favre to Minnesota ... but this "poison pill" all but destroys that thinking. That is, unless, the Vikings stepped up to the table and gave the Jets an outstanding offer that included a few first round picks that would compensate for the lost ones. That would be a highly unlikely scenario.

What will be interesting is if the NFL allows such a stipulation. With Roger Goodell carrying his Bud Seliq-esque "best interests of football" stick, I doubt that the league will even bother looking at it.

The biggest NFL story is in the biggest NFL market. New York has the Super Bowl Champions and the media darling. Goodell isn't messing with it.
