New England Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork is a dirty player. If you don't think so, try explaining why he went all Three Stooges on Giants running back Brandon Jacobs, attempting to poke him in the eye:

Wilfork knows that the eye-poke, as well as a late hit on Cowboys tight end Jason Witten, a low hit on Bills quarterback J.P. Losman and a facemask of Chargers running back Michael Turner have given him the dirty reputation. But he says he doesn't really care.
The Boston Herald reports:
"It's not going to stop the way I play and prepare," Wilfork said last week. "I'd never alter my game just because of something like that. That was in the past. I really don't care about it. I'm going to do what I got to do to get myself ready for the season."
Wilfork did admit that it was "stupid" of him to go for the eye gouge on Jacobs, but for the most part he sounds like he doesn't have much remorse for his series of cheap shots. He's been fined $40,000 by the league, and since that hasn't changed his approach to the game, maybe next time a suspension is in order.
