Ex and Current Jags Jimmy Smith and Jag Fred Taylor Know How to Par-Tay on Holidays

Labor Day is a time for the common man to stretch back in his recliner, wrapped aristocratically in his smoking jacket, and shotgun some Busch Light. But the proletariat aren't the only ones who like to kick back on this glorious time of "not having to work quite as long".

It would appear that when you are a Jacksonville Jaguar, you learn how to party as well. At least if you think that Jimmy Smith and Fred Taylor, who were both arrested over the past 24 hours, are pretty recognizable members of the J-ville franchise.

Taylor's circumstances are less damning in that he wasn't driving:
He was instead released outside of Club Cristal on Fifth Street on his own recognizance with a promise to appear in court.

The exact circumstances leading to Taylor's arrest weren't known on Sunday. The Miami Beach Police Department's records division, which provides police reports, is closed until Tuesday for the Labor Day weekend.
And because he didn't have a bunch of "potgrass butts" in his car, either. (Both instances via MDS at PFT).
Smith was booked into the Duval County Jail around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. He spent about 10 hours behind bars before bonding out.

Inside Smith's vehicle officers also found marijuana butts inside the console.

Smith had a strong odor of the drug on his clothing.

When Smith was asked if he had smoked marijuana, he told the officer "I just finished it."
Okay, um, what the hell is he holding onto the butts of joints for? Everyone knows you've got throw your roaches out the wind ... er, it would seem less logical to hold onto evidence of using drugs than it would to dispose of them via the giant automatically opening hole to the left of your head.

Smith's arrest of course doesn't really do anything but tee of Wayne Weaver and the many season ticket holders who have to see him speak at those pre-game Club Level functions.

Taylor's arrest could have a more significant impact on this season, naturally, but since he wasn't actually bonded out, it seems silly to project that he would actually miss any time until we hear more about what happened at the Cristal.
