Favre Talks About Green Bay Exit, Says Comparing Him to Rodgers Is 'Ridiculous'

Brett Favre seemingly will not let the whole Green Bay thing die -- because Lord knows, we all did. In fact, we moved onto the Post #4 Era quite nicely, and I think, honestly, we kind of stopped caring about Favre in New York.

Well, Brett will not be having any of that. So he decided to do an interview about how goshdarn happy and excited he is to be a Jet and in the process, thrash every single member of the Green Bay organization.

There was Ted Thompson, who is apparently crazy and who Favre is disappointed in:
"I always liked Ted and I don't want to say I dislike him now," he said. "I'm disappointed."

Thompson flew to Favre's Mississippi home, and the quarterback thought the general manager was there to ask him to come back. Instead, Thompson told him that the team was going to do something special for him: dismantle his locker and send it to him.

"That was the craziest thing I ever heard of," Favre said. "What the hell am I going to do with a locker anyway? So, I said, 'OK, Ted, that's great."'
Yeah, he didn't treat Brett well at all. So that's pretty solid of him.

And while Favre didn't really take a shot at Mike McCarthy, he still repeated a private phone conversation they had during the whole process, which is basically the same thing.
Favre called McCarthy on June 20 and told him that he wanted to come back.

"When he picked up the phone again after he dropped it, he said, 'Oh, God, Brett. You're putting us in a tight spot,"' Favre said. "He said, 'Brett, playing here is not an option.' Those were his exact, exact words."
And finally, he was kind of enough to "not brag" and point out that Aaron Rodgers is not as good as the man, the myth, the legend ... The Favre.
"There's no guarantees I come back and I play as well as I did last year, but if you're a betting man and you said, 'OK, who gives us the best chance to win right now?' and this is not bragging, but I would think I would," said Favre, who threw for 4,155 yards and 28 touchdowns last season. "Aaron may play great and then they all look like geniuses, but to not welcome me back -- and I'm just assuming -- for fear of upsetting Aaron, not only now, but in the future, is totally ridiculous. Totally ridiculous."
Now, I know he's actually an old man in football years, but he still acts like a young gunslinger. So, maybe, just maybe it's time to grow up, Brett. You've got your new team. The Packers have their new quarterback. We're sorry we stopped paying attention for a few minutes, but unfortunately, that's life when you get old and move on.
