The population of NBA teams featuring orange as a major color has increased by one today, as the barons of Oklahoma City have unleashed the Thunder on our arses. There's the logo. Breathe it in. Don't let it choke you, though. That would be bad.

Matt Moore says the OKC owners actually played AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" at the press conference announcing the already well-known moniker. The presumptive use of "Thunderstruck" as a serious feature in OKC's pre-game prep or halftime festivities has been joked about endlessly since June. Canny sense of humor or ridiculous self-mocking: which was the impetus for presser usage? No one shall ever know.

Bright side to the blinding palette: Kevin Durant has played in orange before. Sure, that was burnt orange and this is more like ... overripe tangelo/roasted butternut squash gazpacho orange. (I believe "Craig Sager's favorite knit kerchief orange" is the official name for the hue.)
