The New England Patriots were the preseason favorites to win the Super Bowl, with the odds at 7-2 that Tom Brady would hold the Vince Lombardi Trophy over his head in February.

But the odds that Matt Cassel will hold the Vince Lombardi Trophy over his head are significantly longer.

Below are the revised Super Bowl odds, after Brady's Week 1 injury, courtesy of Bodog.

Odds to win the 2009 Super Bowl:
Dallas Cowboys 4/1

San Diego Chargers 13/2

Indianapolis Colts 15/2

New Orleans Saints 10/1

Pittsburgh Steelers 10/1

Jacksonville Jaguars 13/1

New York Giants 14/1

Philadelphia Eagles 14/1

Green Bay Packers 15/1

Minnesota Vikings 15/1

New York Jets 15/1

New England Patriots 20/1

The Patriots are also underdogs against the Jets on Sunday, so is it safe to say the oddsmakers were taken aback by Brady's injury?

"There never has been one injury, so early in the season, that has affected football and a team's chance of winning more than the Tom Brady injury," Bodog sports book manager Richard Gardner said. "That a team like Indianapolis can go out and play terrible at home and have their odds reduced because of one injury is unprecedented. The Patriots are still favored to make the playoffs, but have fallen into being categorized as no better than the sixth or seventh best team in the AFC until Matt Cassel proves differently."

Matt Cassel, your first chance to prove differently comes against a good young secondary on Sunday at the Meadowlands.
