Most Likely to Make Kevin Love Wish He Stayed at UCLA: Amare Stoudemire

NBA FanHouse walks through the Valley of the Most Likely; we shall fear no topic.

I love Kevin Love. I think he's going to be a very good player in the NBA. He's going to be great on the glass, and will likely become the league's best passing big man. But just like most NBA players, Love has his weaknesses.

Love's most glaring weakness might be on the defensive side of the ball -- particularly when it comes to keeping up with quicker and more athletic players. Love could get around that by guarding centers, but I'm not sure if he's tall enough to hold his own at that position. That means K-Love will most likely will be matching up with freak of nature power forwards like Amare Stoudemire.

Stoudemire usually only has trouble when he's matched up with athletic bigs who are bigger and longer than him. For instance, Andrew Bynum is not a good match up for S.T.A.T. However, he usually obliterates opposing power forwards -- especially those that are lacking in the athleticism department.

With Love's lack of lateral movement and defensive prowess, Amare is going to have a lot of fun against the T-Wolves this season. The inevitable spanking Amare will give Kevin Love this season might be bad enough to make Love wish he was still back at UCLA, dominating everyone in the Pac-10.

Anyhow, mark Wednesday November 26, 2008 down as the day Kevin Love will have his welcome to the NBA moment. I have a feeling it won't be pretty.
