Before Monday Night Football this week, one of the many football "experts" talked about how they thought Peyton Manning was the smartest player in the NFL. I thought about it for a few minutes and finally settled on the fact that while there is no conclusive evidence that Manning is hands down the smartest, he is the best with what he's been given.
Then I watched this ad and completely disagreed with myself. Manning isn't just the smartest football player, he is probably the smartest athlete of our time. The guy figured out that if he markets himself as a big goof, like most see him, he could probably land some serious green. It also doesn't hurt that the guy has great comedic timing and can pull off things like the leg stretching in this latest MasterCard commercial.
Manning continues to entertain me, and in commercials these days that is a tough thing to do.
