Bama vs. LSU '07 Turned in 2 Minutes

You may recall the Bama vs. LSU game of 2007. It was one of many exciting finishes for the Tigers, but perhaps no SEC win was more meaningful for the LSU faithful than defeating the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa. Many of the players suiting up for Louisiana State had been recruited by Nick Saban, and no doubt Les Miles wanted to show that his Tigers had plenty of bite without Nick Saban and his championship ways.

It was a tight finish. But do you remember just how tight? And how dramatic that comeback? Remember, the '07 Alabama was far more Shula-istic than Saban-tastic. LSU fielded a team with far greater talent and depth. But against all odds, Alabama had the game nearly in hand. Up 34-27, the Tide had held Matt Flynn on 3rd-and-4 with just over two minutes remaining. On the Tide's 32-yard line, it was do-or-die time.

And the Tigers most decidedly did do.

Flynn connected with Early Doucet for a touchdown strike to tie the game up, 34-34. Alabama had one more chance, but a John Parker Wilson fumble ended the Tide's hopes. LSU went on to win the game, 41-34.

FanHouse expects this week's matchup between Bama and LSU to be no less thrilling. This time, Alabama is favored and appears to field the more talented team; but you can expect the Baton Rouge crowd to ready, rowdy, and loud. Kickoff is 3:30PM ET on Saturday.
