Lute Olson's Doctor Gets Restraining Order Against the Former Mrs. Olson

And we all thought the off-the-court matters of retired Arizona coach Lute Olson would go private and quiet. Not so much.

The very public divorce of Lute Olson from his second wife, Christine, was a very weird and public mess. Then it abruptly was settled before the actual trial. During all of the craziness, Christine Olson spoke of how Lute Olson was not the same man she married.

Of course, as we learned last week, Lute Olson did indeed have some changes. A previously undiagnosed stroke that has led to depression. Well, that's his excuse. Can't wait to find out what the former Mrs. Olson will claim is her problem. Especially in light of the alleged threat she made to Lute Olson's doctor.
A threat that led to a restraining order.

The day UA coach Lute Olson announced his retirement, his ex-wife threatened the coach's doctor by placing a sheet ridden with bullet holes in his office, according to a restraining order granted against Christine Olson on Tuesday.

The order was obtained by Dr. Steven D. Knope and signed by judge Susan Bacal, saying Christine Olson was to have no contact of "any sort" with Knope.

According to court documents, Christine Olson called Knope's office on three occasions Oct. 23 looking to speak to him, but was told he was busy with patients.

Around 3 p.m., she arrived at the medical office and "behaved in a threatening manner" to staff members, according to the order.

After waiting 20 minutes, she walked past the reception area and to Knope's office, according to court documents. Upon entering the office, she placed a target practice sheet on his desk chair. It contained 25 bullet holes in the paper head and body, the report said.

Wow. Can't wait to get the spin on that as anything but a threat. Odds are, she won't be serving as the Committeewoman of the Republican National Committee again after this. She was also co-chair of McCain-Palin's Pennsylvania campaign. I'm surprised it managed to stay quiet until after the election. Even in Arizona.

Apparently in the divorce documents, Christine Olson accused Dr. Knope of being one of the factors that "destroyed her marriage." So, this grudge has been festering.
