Easy Remaining Schedule Has Colts Ready for Playoff Run

After the Colts lost on Monday Night Football in Tennessee, it was viewed as a torch-passing of some sort by many. You can still use the metaphor, because the Colts are not winning the AFC South. It seems like an annual tradition to raise the AFC South Champions banner in Indy, so there is a bit of a change in the division. I'll admit that. The possibility of the Colts not playing in January, however, is very slim.

Since dropping that game in Tennessee, the Colts have come through with hard-fought victories over the Patriots and Steelers, and are now primed for a hot streak.

As Mike Chappell of the Indy Star reports, the Colts schedule from here on out is about as stout as their sans-Bob Sanders run defense. The only remaining team with a winning record left on the slate is the aforementioned Titans. They get a crack at them at home in the final week of the season, when the Titans likely won't have anything to play for other than pride or momentum. The other six opponents left for the Colts sport a combined 15-39 record.

Also of note, the Colts have taken down the Patriots, Steelers, and Ravens head-to-head ... so playoff tiebreaker advantages also sit in Indy.

Don't count on a Colts-free January anytime soon.
