You ultimately decide that it's not good P.R. to play yourself out of town two seasons in a row. You block out all of the negative vibes that are coming your way and you revert to being the best hitter on the planet.

You hit .389 the rest of the season (including a three-homer game against Colorado to clinch the division for the Dodgers with a record of 81-81) while making up a ten-game deficit to the Diamondbacks, and stomp your way through the NL and on to the World Series, where you meet the Red Sox.

In Game 7 of the World Series (held at Dodger Stadium because, even though the Red Sox had 18 more wins than your team, the National League won the All Star game thanks to your two-run home run), you're at bat with the bases loaded and down by three in the ninth against Jonathon Papelbon, and you hit a 1-2 fastball over the left field wall to win the Series for the Dodgers. You tip your hat to Papelbon and he responds by sticking his tongue out at you.

You play out the next three seasons of your contract before riding off into the sunset, where you begin your second career on the poker circuit.

THE END.
