Every week there are minor moves and stories around the National Hockey League that tend to fall through the cracks. Consider this our weekly roundup of those stories from the previous week, all wrapped up in one neat little package.

A quick look at the top goaltenders in the NHL in terms of goals against average and save percentage offers a wide variety of established No. 1's, and, surprisingly, quite a few lesser-known backups. Among the backups currently showing up among the league leaders are Florida's Craig Anderson, San Jose's Brian Boucher, Anaheim's Jonas Hiller, Pittsburgh's Dany Sabourin, and New Jersey's Scott Clemmensen. Not exactly a who's who list of the league's top netminders, yet, here they are.

Boucher, for example, is currently pacing the league with a 1.88 goals against average, and has posted a 7-1-1 record in nine starts with the Sharks, most of which came when he filled in for injured starter Evgeni Nabokov.

Down in Florida, Anderson (who may no longer be a "backup") has been taking starts away from Tomas Vokoun, and has been sensational for the Panthers, posting a 7-2-3 record in net, and a league-best .941 save percentage.

Tonight, in Newark, when the Devils take the ice against Atlantic Division rival Pittsburgh, the goaltending matchup will be Sabourin vs. Clemmensen, thanks to injuries to starters Marc-Andre Fleury and Martin Broduer.

When Brodeur went down with his elbow injury in early November, speculation began to swirl as to who the Devils might acquire to fill in and keep their season afloat. As it turns out, the answer was nobody, and after some initial struggles without their Hall of Fame netminder, the Devils have put together an 8-5 record, including a 7-1 mark over their past eight games.

Clemmensen has taken over the No. 1 spot, posting a 6-3 record to go with his .922 save percentage.

Anaheim Signs Former Second-Round Pick

The Ducks signed 2007 second-round pick Eric Tangradi to a three-year entry level deal on Wednesday. A 6-foot-3 220 pound monster of a left wing, Tangradi was the 42nd overall pick in the 2007 draft, and scored 24 goals for the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League a season ago. He's on pace to shatter that mark this season, as the 19-year old has already picked up 20 goals in just 32 games this season for Belleville. Tangradi is going to represent the United States in this year's World Junior Championships.

Minor Trades

... On Tuesday, the Blackhawks acquired minor league defenseman Jim Sharrow from Vancouver for the always fun return of a "conditional draft pick." Sharrow, a former draft pick of the Atlanta Thrashers, had been playing in Manitoba of the American Hockey League. It's unlikely the conditional pick will be anything higher than a sixth-rounder.

... Anaheim also made a minor trade within the past week, picking up Logan Stephenson from Phoenix in exchange for Joakim Lindstrom. Thus far, Lindstrom has played sparingly in the NHL, picking up four goals in 37 games with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
