Terrell Owens Kindly Instructs Jason Witten Not to Talk to Him

The Cowboys host the Giants in their biggest game of the season tonight, but instead of talking about the postseason, the re-emerging defense, or Wade Phillips' fashion choices, we're still discussing the Terrell Owens-Jason Witten-Tony Romo love triangle.

ESPN's Ed Werder, citing unnamed sources, reported earlier this week that Owens was jealous of Romo's and Witten's relationship. T.O. denied the allegation a day later, and would go on to have words with Witten in the locker room, right after Phillips announced that everything was hunky dory at Valley Ranch.

Feuding Teammates

After Stephon Marbury of the Knicks reportedly refused to play in a game in November, Quentin Richardson said he no longer considered him a teammate. Marbury responded by saying his teammates "left him out for dead."

As the Mariners' miserable season came to a close, a clubhouse insider reported that one particular player wanted to "knock out" Ichiro Suzuki, Seattle's highest profile player. "It got to a point early on when I thought they were going to get together and go after him," said the source.

And this morning, according to the Dallas Morning News' Todd Archer, Owens instructed Witten not to speak to him during Friday's practice.

The incident, in which Witten was rebuffed by Owens while attempting to speak with him about a pass route, happened during Friday's practice. It came after coach Wade Phillips said a team meeting, "set everything straight, as far as I'm concerned, and I think the players, too."

Sources said the incident did not become physical and that practice continued.

In the scheme of things, this is hardly a big deal -- MDS points out that when with the Eagles, Owens put then-offensive coordinator Brad Childress on silence, and did the same a year later in Dallas with Todd Haley.

As for the Romo-Witten torrid love affair, according to Archer's sources, the players don't "have private meetings and was surprised at the ESPN report." No word on if this is guy is the source or if Werder is just running with a story that isn't there. Tough call, there.
