Remember a couple of weeks ago, when the Knicks banished Stephon Marbury from the team to prevent him from continuing to be a distraction? Well, if Marbury's latest plan works out the way he hopes, he might be the biggest distraction to any team in the history of the league. That's because he's planning a visit to Staples Center this evening to see his Knicks in person take on the Lakers, and he just might buy himself a courtside seat to do so.Despite being banned from the Knicks, Stephon Marbury is planning to attend the team's game against the Lakers on Tuesday night at Staples Center, according to a source close to the situation. If this is somehow allowed to happen, I demand a picture-in-picture from NBA TV so we can watch Marbury's reaction to absolutely everything the entire game. I mean, can you imagine if he actually buys a seat and sits courtside to watch the team that's paying him $21 million dollars to stay the hell away from them? Talk about must-see TV. Call your local cable operator or satellite provider now, people.
It is unclear where Marbury plans to sit at the game, but last Thursday he said he was investigating purchasing courtside seats.
Oh, and if it's late in the game, with the Lakers ahead and the Knicks under 100 points with the ball, let's hope -- no, let's pray -- that we'll get to see Marbury chanting "WE WANT TACOS!" with the rest of the crowd.
