The now 0-15 Lions have many believing that a winless season is not only possible, but probable. This is 0for08, FanHouse's eye on the Detroit Lions and their quest for a winless season.

The Detroit Lions' loss to the New Orleans Saints today makes them the first team in NFL history to start a season with 15 straight losses and gets them one game away from the infamy of becoming the only 0-16 team in football history.

But more significantly for the future of the franchise, the loss assures the Lions of having the first pick in the 2009 draft.

So how will the Lions use that pick to rebuild? Draft a franchise quarterback? Or a stud offensive lineman? Or a playmaker on defense? Or trade the pick and try to stockpile talent at multiple positions?

There's no way of knowing now, because we don't even know who will make the calls in the Lions' draft room. But there's one piece of good news for the fans in Detroit: The pick will not be made by Matt Millen.
