Keyshawn Johnson, for all his antics on the field as a player, is quickly making himself famous for his brash and bold commentary in the studio. ESPN, I'm sure, is just distraught over this behavior.Recently, Key called out Jake Delhomme for 'trust' issues and, well, I could list the folks, but it's pretty much everyone. Now he's turned his expertise towards Jon Gruden and Terrell Owens. Namely, he doesn't really think that Chucky has what it takes to coach the Dallas Cowboys. And he doesn't think T.O. is really "good" for Big D.
"Yeah but no. I don't think so," Johnson said. "It's not that I have any animosity there. I like [Gruden] a lot. I just know it wouldn't work. He is not humble enough to accept that he is not going to be the one in control. And there is better meat out there."Maybe Key's right and Gruden wouldn't mesh with Jerry Jones' style of ownership. Or maybe Key is bitter because Gruden benched him back in the day. I'd tend to side with the latter, personally, but I will concede the fact that he knows both organizations and the people involved pretty well, so perhaps Gruden wouldn't be able to do enough with that already assembled offensive arsenal.
As for his statement on T.O., well, I find it difficult to disagree.
"He is the poison pill," he said. "Everybody can see it. Marion Barber is a different personality now. Patrick Crayton is a different personality now. He was not that guy when I was there. He was happy to be in the NFL. He was just happy to be there. And now he is the spokesperson of the team. Sometimes, people have that kind of influence on a team."Well, maybe not so far as Crayton becoming the spokesman for the Cowboys, but I'd tend to agree with Johnson on Owens' locker room behavior. And all beef between he and T.O. aside, Johnson would know. Something, something about smelling your own and whatnot.
