Last night, 30 Rock kind of/sort of mocked diabetes. But the truth of the matter is that diabetes is a serious disease, and one that can seriously debilitate a person's life.Larry Miller, the longtime owner of the Utah Jazz, found that to be a very harsh truth over the past few days, culminating in an amputation of both his legs, six inches below the knees.
According to a news release from the Jazz, the surgery went well and Miller is recovering in the hospital.Miller has been a controversial figure over several issues, particularly homosexuality. However, there's no reason to do anything but offer our thoughts and prayers to Miller and his family.
The double amputation is the latest in a series of diabetes-related health issues Miller has endured over the past eight months.
"Larry is doing well and is expected to continue to recover in the coming weeks and months," said Greg Miller, CEO of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies.
The Miller family will provide no further details to the public at this time and will have no further comment, the news release said.
