I don't know if you've heard by now, but our new Commander-in-Chief Barack Obama is a big fan of the Chicago White Sox. Seriously, he is. Even if he doesn't talk about it all that much or ask Illinois soldiers in Afghanistan via a live feed at one of his Inaugural Balls whether they're Sox or Cubs fans -- there's a joke in there somewhere, just can't figure it out -- it's still true.

You've probably never seen him wearing his White Sox hat around, either, but he does. It's a shame he doesn't publicize his love of the White Sox more often because it seems that those few people who have noticed it are starting to follow suit (via Deadspin).
If there is good economic news, it is that sales of black hats with a white "Sox" logo on front have increased 25 percent since the election of President Barack Obama, a staunch White Sox fan.
The team has also reportedly been kicking around the idea of coming out with an Obama-themed White Sox hat because marketers just haven't found enough ways to exploit the new President or his family yet.

It really has been a remarkable week for baseball fans in the city of Chicago. The Cubs seem to have finally found new ownership after a two-year search, and now White Sox fans who have long wanted to blow up Wrigley Field finally have a man with the capability of doing it. Soon nothing will stop the White Sox from conquering the world!
