Doing Lines: Westbrook Cuts Through

Every night there are some stupendous, silly, stupid, or downright outlandish individual lines from around the "lig." Doing Lines lets you know which one tops the list.

Super Bowl Sunday presented a limited line-up of games, but a couple offered some real entertainment. And when I say entertainment, I know you're thinking Thunder vs Kings!

The game didn't start until 3PM ET, just 3-1/2 hours before the Big Game. The tiny crowd probably thought it could make it home for the kickoff no problem ... until the game went to overtime. Jeff Green had a ridiculous tip off an intentionally missed free throw to send it to the extra frame; a dozen security guards sighed heavily, I imagine.

But whatever: Russell Westbrook was insane in this one, scoring a career-high 34 points while getting to the line for 22 FTAs. Most of his work came slicing through and stuttering in the lane -- very crafty work. On the other side, Kevin Martin put up 37 points on 24 FGAs in the Sacramento win.

Telling absence: Kevin Garnett missed the Timberwolves' visit due to illness; as a result, Boston almost missed the win. The Wolves were within six in the final minutes on the back of incredible scoring output (34 points) from Al Jefferson; Paul Pierce, however, did enough for the Celtics to pull it out -- 36 points, eight rebounds, six assists.
