Rawson got her break into a modeling career at age 16, when she was a finalist in the Australian "Dolly" Magazine cover contest. Her interest in fashion led her to become the spokeswoman and assistant creative director for the J. Lindeberg women's golf line.

"The tour has got so much better with so many young stars and great players," Rawson told the radio station in an interview arranged by her father Jim.It's like I'm reading Howard Zinn.
"But the mentality unfortunately amongst the media and the industry hasn't changed. They still think we're at 25 years ago when the tour was full of, you know, a lot of dykes and unattractive females nobody wanted to watch."
So, yeah ... um, Rawson is trying to say that the LPGA is straighter and comelier than it was in 1987? Okey doke, duly noted. This isn't the first time she's commented publicly on such matters. Last year, Rawson told Men's Health that "I have penis envy ... I could never be with a woman, because I'm just fascinated by what men can do with their bodies that we can't."
Interestingly, David Schipper, who wrote Men's Health the piece, adds, "... She says this loudly, as if she's often asked about the lesbian subculture that exists in her line of work-professional golf." You think?
When I mentioned Rawson's most recent comments to Shane Bacon, he responded with, "Nice career move, Anna."
But here's the thing: Rawson doesn't have a career, really. She's a model who happens to be a pretty good golfer. Not great, but good enough to make a few bucks off her notoriety. Notoriety, by the way, that has everything to do with how she looks, regardless of how many cuts she misses. And unlike Michelle Wie, who has the potential to dominate the sport, nobody expects Rawson to be anything more than what she is: a novelty.
For what it's worth -- and I suspect not much -- Rawson has since apologized for her remarks. "I hope I haven't offended anybody. I didn't mean to do that. I was talking about what I'd heard about the game 25 years ago. I was only two years old at the time." And everybody lived happily ever after.
Except Will Brinson, who would like another interview.
