Vic Darchinyan showed again that he's the best 115-pound boxer in the world Saturday night, pounding Jorge Arce for 11 rounds before the doctor mercifully brought the fight to a close prior to the 12th.

Darchinyan defended his WBC, WBA and IBF junior bantamweight titles, and although Ring Magazine doesn't recognize a true 115-pound champion, it should now: Darchinyan is the best in his weight class.

Against Arce, the result was never in doubt. Darchinyan was ahead 109-100 on all three judges' scorecards before the doctor determined that the cuts on both of Arce's eyes made a 12th round unsafe. It was a wise decision.

There's no word yet on whom Darchinyan might fight next, but it might be time for him to move up in weight class. There aren't many challenges left for him at 115 pounds.
