The NBA All Star Weekend's inaugural game of HORSE (a.k.a. GEICO) has its first set of contestants lined up. And, unlike the Dunk Contest in most years, this could be pretty freaking exciting: Kevin Durant, O.J. Mayo and Joe Johnson are the first three names who will compete on national television for bragging rights in the classic playground game.

Yes, you should be more excited than Nate Robinson after destroying 34 straight zoltars on World of Warcraft. (From Daily Thunder.)
[Durant will] be taking on Joe Johnson and O.J. Mayo in the event which takes place on TNT at 4 p.m. Saturday. While it doesn't exactly strike me as the most interesting H-O-R-S-E group ever, but it should be cool to watch. But a lot of times, what wins in this game is a perfect combo of steady jump shots and creative shots.
Now, pardon me for saying so, but um, not the most interesting H-O-R-S-E group ever? Have you lost your mind, guy? Ovinton J'Anthony, KD and JJ. That's a freaking monster first HORSE list.

Think about it -- the Dunk Contest, while slightly revived last year, is still a dwindling particle of its former self (witness the zoltran killer's participation again) and the Playstation Skills Challenge, while super awesome and chock full of talent, doesn't have the gusto that something like HORSE does.

Add in the fact that all three of these guys can both shoot and dunk lay the ball up with their left hands in impressive fashion, and I think it's a pretty safe bet that H-O-R-S-E -- or whatever TNT sells the name out to in coming years -- is here to stay.
