LenDale White is fat. He was chunky at USC, he dropped to the second round of the 2006 NFL draft because he showed up out of shape to his workouts, and he's been a portly fellow for his entire three-year NFL career. But this off-season, he says that's going to change.White's uncle and personal trainer Herman White says LenDale is running hills and having a personal chef prepare his meals in an effort to slim down.
Herman White tells The Tennessean:
According to Herman, LenDale has already lost four pounds, from 240 to 236, and he'll be down to 230 at the start of the Titans' offseason conditioning program next month. I personally have a feeling that LenDale is going to prove himself to be something of a Kirstie Alley-style yo-yo dieter, but at least he's trying."He's been forced to believe he needed to be a big bruiser, so his weight wasn't a focus for him in the past in terms of monitoring it. The pounding he was going to take he was going to need the size. But he has changed his thought process on that ... and he wants to be able to do more than run in between the tackles. And if you see him he looks noticeably thinner. ...
I'm his biggest critic. Even if he is doing something right I am on him. When they lost that game he took it hard. He told me, 'I know there is more that I can contribute.'"
