Barry Bonds would probably like to see his perjury trial start tomorrow, because as each day passes it seems the federal government is mounting more and more of a case against him. On top of the voluminous records released documenting failed steroid tests by Bonds, the federal government now will be calling Kathy Hoskins to the stand next month to testify against Bonds. Though you likely don't know who Hoskins is, this is important because she claims that she watched Greg Anderson inject Barry Bonds. She apparently doesn't know what Anderson injected Bonds with, but it's looking kind of bleak for Bonds, especially given Bonds' prior testimony that no one except his doctors ever injected him with anything.
Of course, you can also see the route his defense will take. They're likely going to get the released tests thrown out of court and those probably couldn't have been directly linked to Bonds anyways. And without Hoskins knowing what Anderson injected Bonds with, Bonds' team will certainly argue that it was nothing illegal.
In the end, this trial is going to come down to a "he said she said" argument, with Hoskins and several former players pointing a finger at Bonds and Anderson and Bonds denying everything. Every time one of these stories leaks, though, Bonds' denials seem a little bit less plausible.
