Welcome to the FanHouse live blog of tonight's welterweight fight between Kelly Pavlik and Marco Antonio Rubio, where we'll provide live, round-by-round updates of all the action.

Our Miguel Cotto-Michael Jennings live blog has come to an end, with Cotto beating Jennings by technical knockout. The Pavlik-Rubio fight will start around 11:20 PM ET and the live blog begins below.

Rubio is in the ring. Pavlik is entering the ring to a huge ovation. They're going through the final introductions.
Round 1: This fight is underway. Pavlik swings wildly and misses. A good combination from Pavlik, and Rubio is just backing away. No offense at all from Rubio for the first minute of the fight, while Pavlik lands some good shots. Pavlik lands a right hand to the body, starts to corner Rubio and then gets him against the ropes. Pavlik with a very good 1-2 to Rubio, sending him against the ropes. Rubio lands a right and then Pavlik lands a better right. The round ends with Pavlik battering Rubio against the ropes. Pavlik, 10-9.

Round 2: Pavlik lands a couple of left hands in the first 10 seconds of the second round. Rubio is not landing any punches at all. Pavlik backs Rubio against hte ropes and hits him, and Rubio doesn't have an answer for it. Rubio is in the corner just trying to dodge punches. Pavlik is completely picking Rubio apart, and Rubio is really doing nothing except trying not to get hit. Rubio finally throws a combination. But it's met with a more powerful combination from Pavlik. Pavlik lets his right hand go and snaps Rubio's head back. Another easy round, 10-9 for Pavlik.

Round 3: Rubio comes out a little more aggressive at the start of the third. Rubio throws a left-right combo that momentarily backs Pavlik up. We're finally seeing signs of life from Rubio, but now Pavlik lands a very hard left hand that makes Rubio wince. Pavlik's right hands are like a freight train, and the put Rubio back on his heels. Rubio has been a little more active this round, but Pavlik has much more power on his punches. Rubio lands a left to the body and then Pavlik comes straight at him again. This was the best round for Rubio so far, but I still score it for Pavlik, 10-9.

Round 4: Pavlik is looking fairly cautious here, but Rubio is just doing nothing. Pavlik pushes Rubio back against hte ropes with his punches, and Rubio can't do anything about it. Pavlik has a reach advantage, and more importantly a strength advantage, and he's just overpwering Rubio while rarely getting tagged himself. Pavlik lands a good combination against the ropes, and the crowd is on its feet. Rubio isn't hurting Pavlik at all, even when he manages to get a punch through. An easy round to score, Pavlik 10-9.

Round 5: Rubio finally throws a good right hand. But Pavlik just goes right back and hits Rubio several times against the ropes. Rubio just spends far too much time backing away from Pavlik's punches, and far too little time mounting an offensive of his own. Pavlik has Rubio against the ropes, and he has a good opportunity to put him to the canvas. Rubio has taken a lot of punches and shown a decent chin, but that's about it. Pavlik isn't doing much beyond landing straight punches. Finally Rubio comes forward and hits Pavlik in the chin, and that left hand actually momentarily hurt Pavlik. But Pavlik recovers quickly and backs Rubio against the ropes again. Once again, it's Pavlik, 10-9.

Round 6: Rubio starts the round with some quick punches, but there's no power on them at all. Pavlik is just bearing down on Rubio and letting him have it. The only problem for Pavlik is that he's not doing enough to knock Rubio down. Even when Rubio looks like he has all his power behind a punch, Pavlik just shakes it off. Rubio lands a good right hand. But then he gets the worse of an exchange. Another good right from Rubio, and then Pavlik lands a jab. They end the round trading punches, and if I were looking for a round to give to Rubio, this would be the one, but I still think it has to go to Pavlik, 10-9.

Round 7: Rubio is looking a little more active, but he still just doesn't have the punching power that Pavlik has. Rubio misses a hook and Pavlik lands a jab. They're trading punches in the middle of the ring, and although Rubio is landing a few, it's apparent that Pavlik has more power on his. Still, at some point you have to question why Pavlik hasn't been able to knock Rubio down. Rubio has not looked like a great opponent, and Pavlik is beating him easily but not dominating him. The crowd is trying to encourage Pavlik, who will take another 10-9. round.

Round 8: It's the same story: Pavlik lands straight punches, Rubio backs away. Rubio catches Pavlik but again just doesn't seem to have enough power to hurt Pavlik at all. Pavlik lands a very hard straight right but he looks like he lacks the killer instinct to finish the fight after landing a good punch like that. A huge right from Pavlik! Pavlik lands his best punch of the night. Backs Rubio against the ropes. Rubio won't go down but he's just hanging on as Pavlik hits him hard against the ropes. Rubio, amazingly, throws a flurry of punches at the end of the round and manages to survive. Pavlik, 10-9.

Round 9: I just don't see how Rubio can stay in this fight as Pavlik batters him. I'm impressed with Rubio's heart. He wants to keep going. But what's the point? Pavlik is just completely controlling everything, and Rubio is doing nothing. If I were in Rubio's corner I think I'd throw in the towel. It's not even so much that Pavlik is hurting Rubio as that Rubio just has no chance at all of winning this fight. There's nothing on his punches. Pavlik is just hitting a heavy bag. There's no reason for Rubio to keep fighting because he's just getting hit, over and over again. Give Rubio credit for his heart and not much else. Pavlik, 10-9.

And it's over! Rubio can't answer the bell! Kelly Pavlik beats Marco Antonio Rubio.
