The ring, run by Deborah and Charles Turbiville, was said to be the biggest prostitution operation in the Houston area. Not only that, it wasn't exactly cheap, which likely contributed to the list including only rich patrons.
"If you didn't have at least $300 a session, you couldn't get in the door," said Houston police Sgt. Mark Kilty. According to court documents, some of the women met their clients at upscale hotels in the Galleria area and charged about $350 an hour.In addition to this, the Turbivilles did background checks on each client and usually only allowed referrals from those most trusted. This is what made it so tough for the police to break the case. This also could connect several Houston athletes together, but that's all just speculation. This news does not necessarily even mean the people on the list played for Houston teams.
It's unclear when or if the client list will be made public, but those athletes who "paid for it" are certainly in danger of being publicly shamed -- especially if any happened to be married.
