'Onion' Reveals Best NASCAR Strategy
Who would've thought that something as simple as "Drive Fast" was the key?
Now before you get too riled up about the video because of a perceived diss on NASCAR racing as a whole, realize that The Onion is a long-time parody news network known for injecting plenty of humor into its work. If you've never read before, I'd suggest taking a look -- it's a guaranteed laugh.
As for the video's work, it really offers some nice tips to up-and-coming drivers by way of "Legendary NASCAR driver coach" Dan Amon. He talks about pre-race training regimens ("a lot of work with pedals"), NASCAR tracks being an oval not a circle ("a common misconception") and how to handle other cars on the track ("look out the windshield and if you see a race car over there, don't drive into that place").
And his number one tip? "Drive fast."
Hard to argue with that -- parody or not.
