Hurricanes 4, Rangers 2: Carolina continued its winning ways with a 4-2 win over the Rangers on Thursday night, extending its current winning streak to seven games. Chad LaRose scored a pair of goals in the win, while Cam Ward stopped 36 shots, including 29 through the first two periods.
Canadiens 5, Islanders 1: Montreal went 3-for-8 on the power play during its 5-1 win over the Islanders on Thursday night. The Canadiens received goals from Saku Koivu, Mike Komisarek, Andrei Markov, Mathieu Schneider and Alex Tanguay, while Jaroslav Halak stopped 26-of-27 shots in goal.
