On Wednesday, the NHL will embark on another postseason, with 16 teams engaging in what is possibly the best, most entertaining playoff tournament the nation has to offer. It took through Sunday, the last day of the regular season, for all of the playoff matchups to shake out, but we now know which eight series will kick off the NHL's second season.

Eastern Conference

No. 1
Boston Bruins vs. No. 8 Montreal Canadiens

No. 2 Washington Capitals vs. No. 7 New York Rangers

No. 3 New Jersey Devils vs. No. 6 Carolina Hurricanes

No. 4 Pittsburgh Penguins vs. No. 5 Philadelphia Flyers

Western Conference

No. 1
San Jose Sharks vs. No. 8 Anaheim Ducks

No. 2 Detroit Red Wings vs. No. 7 Columbus Blue Jackets

No. 3 Vancouver Canucks vs. No. 6 St. Louis Blues

No. 4 Chicago Blackhawks vs. No. 5 Calgary Flames
