The long saga of John Wall has reached its end with the stud point guard recruit finally choosing Kentucky. Wall becomes the crown jewel of what is almost certainly the best recruiting class in the country. Every program in the country wanted Wall. Baylor hired the brother of his AAU coach and adviser trying to get an inside track. Duke came hard at him. No one seemed the least bit deterred in recruiting him by his shaky academics and recent misdemeanor charge.
It apparently came down to Miami and Kentucky. And in the end, the lure of the Wildcats, the track record of John Calipari in developing players, and of course the dribble-drive attack offense that Calipari runs were just too much to refuse.
As a result, anaging expectations in Kentucky for coach John Calipari just became that much more difficult. With the top recruiting class and Patrick Patterson already back in the fold for next year, every preseason prognostication will have Kentucky in the top-5 if not the team to beat. If Jodie Meeks pulls his name from the NBA Draft, then expectations in the Commonwealth will be turned up to 11.
