News on Tiger Woods has been fairly spotty since we last saw him "struggle" to an eighth place finish at The Players Championship. Since the Accenture Match Play, Tiger hasn't finished out of the top-10 in four straight tournaments, including a win at Bay Hill. After a three-week break, Tiger announced he will be playing The Memorial next week.Jack Nicklaus' tournament was always a staple on Tiger's schedule, but the death of his father and knee injuries have kept him out of two of the last three events. Now, Tiger returns to an event that he hasn't won since 2001, hoping that his driver inaccuracies can straighten out and he can find the touch that won him three consecutive times at Muirfield Village.
Playing Memorial will give Tiger one more tournament before taking the week off before the U.S. Open at Bethpage Black. As you know, the only time the USGA held their championship at Bethpage, Woods came away with the trophy.
Muirfield Village will be that tune up to help Tiger look for his second win at the Black Course.
