Twelve days after Phil Mickelson made the announcement that his wife, Amy, was diagnosed with breast cancer and he'd be taking an indefinite leave of absence, Lefty is planning his return to the PGA Tour.

Next week's St. Jude Classic in Memphis, Tenn., will give Phil one tournament to prepare before heading up to Bethpage Black for the U.S. Open, where he finished alone in second place behind Tiger Woods in 2002.

News on Amy Mickelson's breast cancer have been very positive so far, with Phil admitting that the cancer was caught early enough to give the family hope. Phil and Amy have been the talk of the golf world the last two weeks, with most of the support peaking on Saturday at the Colonial (and event Mickelson had previously committed to playing) when players and fans alike were part of a "Pink Out" to support Amy and raise awareness for breast cancer.

Phil has always been one that liked to play the week before a major, and though the recent news rattled his schedule, he is sticking to his guns.
