Ron Paul, Rick Santorum Suggest Foul Play From Romney Campaign
Conor Casey's 75 minutes against Honduras on Saturday night appeared to be good enough to earn his way onto Bob Bradley's team for the upcoming Confederations Cup, while World Cup veteran Pablo Mastroeni apparently played his way off with an awful showing in last week's loss to Costa Rica and an indifferent performance against Honduras.
Otherwise, the 23-man roster features no real surprises. Here it is, after the jump:

Defenders: Carlos Bocanegra (Rennes), Jonathan Bornstein (Chivas USA), Danny Califf (Midtjylland ), Jay DeMerit (Watford), Oguchi Onyewu (Standard Liege), Heath Pearce (Hansa Rostock), Jonathan Spector (West Ham), Marvell Wynne (Toronto).
Midfielders: Freddy Adu (Monaco), DaMarcus Beasley (Rangers), Michael Bradley (Borussia Moenchengladbach), Ricardo Clark (Houston), Benny Feilhaber (Aarhus), Sacha Kljestan (Chivas USA), Jose Francisco Torres (Pachuca).
Forwards: Jozy Altidore (Xerez), Conor Casey (Colorado), Charlie Davies (Hammarby), Clint Dempsey (Fulham), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles).
Besides Mastroeni, the only players initially named to the recent World Cup roster that won't be heading to South Africa are defender Frankie Hejduk, midfielder Maurice Edu and forward Brian Ching, all of whom are injured. Clark, like Casey, was a late replacement. The CONCACAF Gold Cup, set to kick off on July 3, always has been targeted as a tournament at which those on the fringes of the national team pool would get their chance to impress before World Cup qualifying gets back underway in August. Bradley intended the current camp to include both the qualifiers and the trip to South Africa.
Five players named above participated in the 2003 Confederations Cup in France, where the U.S. lost to Turkey and Brazil and tied Cameroon. Howard started all three games and Beasley scored agains the Turks while Donovan, Bocanegra and Califf made appearances.
This summer, the U.S. plays Italy (June 15), Brazil (June 18) and Egypt (June 21).
