Can we get this charade over with? Brett Favre's going to be a Viking, which is a secret even he can't keep under wraps.

The Vikings players were watching Brett Favre's interview with HBO's Joe Buck like everyone else. They heard a pretty straightforward account of Favre's conversations with the Vikings. But there was one quote that really stood out.

"I think every player should think that he is a difference-maker. I think you have to believe that. But in that situation, understanding what is expected of you, knowing your team, knowing that as long as we can run the ball and complete passes when needed, we should be pretty good."
Linebacker Ben Leber noticed that "we." If Favre was still trying to decide whether he was going to play this year or not, you would think that he would say "the Vikings." Instead he's already thinking of himself as part of the team, he's just stalling, whether it's to build the drama or just avoid having to show up for offseason workouts.

So if Favre's language can be trusted, he's already made up his mind, he's just making me, you and every one of ESPN's one thousand NFL reporters sweat a bit.

It's less likely that Tarvaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels will be thinking of Favre as part of the team until he actually signs a contract, but the reality is we're all just waiting for Favre to end this offseason long annoyance.
