We don't yet know whether Roger Federer will win his 15th Grand Slam at Wimbledon, but he has already made what I consider the shot of the year, above.
As expected, Federer beat Yen-Hsun Lu in straight sets on Centre Court. But no one could have expected the way he finished a long rally, racing past the sideline and hitting a backhand not over the net but instead around the post. Lu couldn't return it.
Federer won the match 7-5, 6-3, 6-2. He plays Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in the second round Wednesday.
