Serena Williams' victory over Elena Dementieva to enter the 2009 Wimbledon finals was an epic struggle. Venus Williams' victory was a walk in the park.Venus beat Dinara Safina 6-1, 6-0, in a match that wasn't the least bit competitive. Venus won the first nine points and never looked back, having no trouble at all dispatching Safina, who is ranked as the No. 1 player in the world but is clearly not the best.
Serena said after beating Elena Dementieva that she planned to return to the stands at Centre Court to cheer on her big sister, but if Serena took a long shower after her nearly three-hour match with Dementieva, then she missed most of Venus's match, which lasted only 51 minutes.
The Venus victory sets up an all-Williams Wimbledon final for the second straight year, and the fourth Williams vs. Williams final at the All England Club. It will mark the eighth time in the last 10 years that a Williams sister has won the Wimbledon single's title. If Venus beats Serena on Saturday, she'll be the first woman since Steffi Graf in 1993 to win a third consecutive Wimbledon title.
