If you are hosting a party, hope it goes better than the event thrown by Houston Texans fullback Vonta Leach. According to the Robesonian.com, Leach was arrested this week for misdemeanor simple assault for a fight that occurred last month at a party he hosted at a North Carolina restaurant. Leach was jailed and released and is scheduled for a court appearance on August 18.According to the police report, two women began fighting at around 2 AM, and Leach escorted them out of the building. Leach then got into a fight with a guy who claims that Leach hit him with a beer bottle to the face and kicked him. Leach told police that he was defending himself after getting assaulted first.
Apparently, it was quite the evening, as as there were reportedly many fights that occurred that night at the Black Water Grille, including a parking lot brawl. Brawling in the parking lot is probably not a good ending to an "all-white dress" event, as blood and gravel stains are likely hard to remove.
Named as a Pro Bowl alternate last year, Vonta Leach is used by the Texans in the role of a blocking fullback to clear out things for Steve Slaton. The Texans depend on the fullback position more than most teams, and currently there are two fullbacks on the roster, with a third, rookie TE James Casey perhaps getting some reps at the position.
