In Cedar Mountain, N.C., at Sherwood Forest Golf Course, you can rent a llama to be your caddie for $40 on Tuesdays. While the video suggests, "they're not too good at reading greens," it does seem like something the people in the story are excited about. Someone even suggests, "It's a hoot. It really is. It's unique."
While it doesn't seem like something I'd want at my course, I did find this quote fairly amusing -- "How many kids can say they've played golf with a llama? I mean, nobody is going to be able to top that for show-and-tell."
Umm, I guess?
If the llama experiment is a success, Mark English, owner of the course, is hoping to take the llamas around to other courses to use at charity events. Naturally.
