Brad ChildressMANKATO, Minn. -- Brad Childress on Thursday denied a FOX Sports radio report that the Minnesota Vikings are moving beyond Brett Favre and are now in negotiations with quarterback Michael Vick.

"Do you have a source? FOX? Do you have a person ... they're saying the Vikings have talked to Vick. Who, the great Oz? Because it wasn't me,'' said the normally mild-mannered Childress, who got about as annoyed as Childress can be.

So that would be a "no?"

"It would have to be a no,'' Childress responded.

For the record, FOX Sports radio host Chris Myers reported the Vick-to-Vikings rumor.

Vikings owner Zygi Wilf also told reporters gathered in Mankato for Childress' camp-opening news conference that his franchise is not pursuing Vick.

"Do you need a denial? I'm denying it,'' Wilf said.
