Looking to cycle spot-starters each day? Check out the Stream Team, where we tab pitchers that are likely to help you in your quest for fantasy gold.

For yesterday's spot-starter, I opted for a pitcher that should have been available in almost every league, picking Jason Hammel on the road. He did not disappoint, and with the help of some superb defensive plays by Ian Stewart, the Rockies pitcher threw seven innings of one-run ball en route to another Stream Team win. We're sporting an ERA of 3.69 and a WHIP of 1.21 in August. Hopefully Luke Hochevar, a pick I wasn't too happy making, can keep it going tonight.

If he's available, I think you have to roll with Jorge de la Rosa tomorrow against the Giants. I'll pick a guy whose owned in fewer leagues and therefore has a better chance at being available to you.

Aaron Laffey has a terrible K/BB ratio, but he's been beating the odds nonetheless, putting up a great 3.38 ERA over 17 games (11 starts). He's made five home starts this year, delivering five quality starts and four wins while at home. His home ERA is a sparkling 1.51 mark. It's been backed up by an average WHIP (1.32) and an ugly K/BB ratio (16/13), but there's no reason he can't continue to keep runners from crossing home in his next start tomorrow against Seattle.

The Mariners have a .711 OPS on the road, a .716 OPS against lefties, and a .713 OPS in their last six games. Clearly, this isn't an imposing offense for a spot-starter. Laffey had back-to back starts against Seattle in July; at home, he made it through six innings and allowed three runs, while in Seattle he pitched seven shutout innings and struck out seven, a season high strikeout total for the lefty. I see a repeat of that July success in tomorrow's game, and I think Laffey will get through six strong innings and deliver us another win.
