Cut-N-Go is Fantasy Football FanHouse's daily gathering of links from around the web, covering the goings-on in NFL Training Camp which have an impact on fantasy value. The third week of the preseason is officially underway with Michael Vick coming at you live right now. For most teams this is a dress rehearsal to see just what they've got. Yup, the stars will get some extensive first-half action and then it's on to prepare for Week 1 or the first meaningful games. Remind me why they play the final preseason game again? Anyhow, for us fantasy football pundits our drafts have already taken place or are right around the corner, and thus this is our last chance to get a glimpse at certain players or prospect potential sleepers.
(Quick Update: Michael Vick finished the game 4-for-4 passing).
So, let's dive right into what's going on around the league on this Thursday.
Other Fantasy Related Camp News:
• In Oakland they are loving their rookie TE Brandon Myers. What exactly does this mean for everyone's favorite TE sleeper Zach Miller? Well, not a whole lot. However, take note that Myers was brought in for the sole purpose of lightening the blocking workload of Miller, which would allow Miller to be more involved in the passing game. Reports are that Myers has done more than impress with just his blocking; his pass-catching abilities have really caught everyone's attention. Monitor the situation, but don't shy away from Miller -- he's still got the goods to be a star fantasy tight end.
• Whose Cadillac is that? Don't look now, but Cadillac Williams is returning to action as we speak. After a few devastating knee injuries he's once again climbed out of the dumps and is attempting to make another valiant return. Don't get all nostalgic in thinking it's 2005 all over again, but his name alone is worth watching on the waiver wire if nothing else. That said, the job is still in the clutches of Derrick Ward and Earnest Graham for short yardage and/or the occasional goal-line look.
• Who will be the No. 2 wide receiver in Washington? It's an ongoing battle between Devin Thomas, Malcolm Kelly and Antwaan Randle El. At the start of camp it appeared as though Thomas would be the guy, but now it's anybody's chance to grab that spot. Pardon my Michigan State bias, but my hunch tells me Thomas has the best chance to eventually win the spot. It might not be right away, but monitor Thomas as a super-duper deep sleeper if he gets the chance. Then again, I said that last year.
• Donnie Avery, who figures to be focal point of the Rams' passing offense, returned to the practice field and proclaims himself ready to roll. He's returning from a stress fracture and was originally thought to miss a couple regular-season games. Time will tell, but don't let him pass you by in the later rounds by being overly concerned. He could help you out. • It may be time to start getting pretty skeptical on Carson Palmer's health. He's been hurt the majority of this preseason and he's probably not going to play a lick in the final few games. This my friends is a cause for concern for a guy who wasn't exactly 100% last offseason, and parlayed that into an injury-plagued campaign where he eventually hung up the cleats without ever really playing much. The moral of the story here is don't waste a pick on Palmer until the value is right. And that could very well be Round 10 or beyond.
• Everyone's favorite WR sleeper, Nate Washington, is hamstrung in Tennessee. A hamstring injury is certainly something you should worry about. He was having a solid camp and looked to be the threat the Titans sorely needed to help stretch the field for Chris Johnson. However, expecting him back for opening night is foolish. An injury like this could linger for several weeks. Monitor this situation closely if you had visions of snagging Washington.
