Broncos Suspend Brandon Marshall

Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall wants a trade. His frustration got the best of him Wednesday, when cameras caught him misbehaving during practice.

It appears to have been the last straw in the ongoing saga between Denver and Marshall. The Broncos have suspended Marshall indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team.

Marshall was caught on video punting a ball away from the ball boy, instead of handing it to him, and was also seen running at much less than full speed during drills. He missed practice Thursday, but the team did not comment on his absence.

He told ESPN Thursday that he was sorry.
"Me punting the ball was definitely frustration," Marshall said. "It was an error in judgment. There was a lot of frustration (Wednesday) coming out of a meeting."
The suspension is effective immediately. The Broncos announced the move Friday morning, and head coach Josh McDaniels told the team of the decision.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on his Twitter page that the team could bring Marshall back for the regular-season opener Sept. 13, assuming he behaves himself between now and then. In the meantime, this could be a huge blow to Marshall's hopes of a trade. It's highly unlikely that the Broncos would get anything close to true value back for a very talented receiver, when it's so obvious that the situation between player and team is this bad.
