Melky CabreraFor a number of major league teams Mondays and Thursdays are travel days. Every Wednesday and Sunday, Fantasy Fill-Ins finds guys who should be widely available on the waiver wire and can step in for the day, helping you gain ground or hold off the pack.

On Monday we have 12 major league games on the docket but on 22 teams are playing because Tampa Bay and New York play in a double header. That means there are plenty of players to choose from on the waiver wire. If you have players in your fantasy baseball lineup from Baltimore, Detroit, Seattle, Oakland, Florida, Atlanta, Washington or the New York Mets, grab a fill-in. They all have the day off on Monday.

Here are the five best options.

Carlos Gonzalez, Rockies - CarGo is batting .345 over his last month and gets to face Justin Lehr on Monday who has a 5.58 ERA and a 1.63 WHIP over his last five starts. In his only two plate appearances against Lehr, CarGo is 1-for-1 with a walk. Gonzalez is available in 81% of fantasy leagues.

Scott Podsednik, White Sox - Believe it or not, Podsednik is 3-for-7 lifetime against Josh Beckett. Podsednik has also had ten hits in his last 29 at-bats. You'll find Podsednik available in 74% of fantasy leagues.

Melky Cabrera, Yankees - Cabrera recently broke out of a slump has been surging forward over the last week batting .393 with three stolen bases in his last 28 at-bats. Not only is he available in 88% of fantasy leagues, but the Yankees are playing a double header on Monday which could mean extra at-bats.

Elvis Andrus, Rangers - The Rangers will be facing Carlos Carrasco on Monday. Carrasco gave up nine hits (three of them home runs) and six earned runs in his only start of the season, which lasted three innings. Andrus has never faced Carrasco but he's batting .391 over his last 23 at-bats and has a 1.114 OPS as well. He's only owned in 15% of fantasy leagues.

Skip Schumaker, Cardinals - Over the last month, Schumaker has a .338 batting average. He doesn't have much power potential, but scores a lot of runs as he's the lead-off hitter in a very potent Cardinals lineup. He's facing Dave Bush on Monday and should do good things as he is 5-for-11 lifetime against Bush. Schumaker is only owned in 16% of fantasy leagues.
